bijan sabet: What should a music social network look like?
How I experience music these days hasn’t changed much over the past few years.
It’s still mostly a combination of folks I follow on Tumblr and Twitter. I also find out about new bands from the Hype Machine. And I get my social radio fix from last.fm.

Read the comments on Bijan’s post for some great discussion. FWIW, I’m with the extension.fm camp. Add in Twitter connect + FB connect + Soundcloud connect, let me pick my friends and give me the option of including what they’ve liked/hearted/bookmarked/shared (whatever Dan goes with) in the stream and Extension.fm is my perfect music social network / discovery service. It would have all the key attributes I’ve come to expect from a social network: an activity stream, sharing, friends, attribution (i.e. knowing who shared a song and knowing what the source site is).
